SEATTLE – Seattle University softball has announced the signing of Hannah Sasaki for the 2020 season. Sasaki played at the University of Illinois last year. She’ll have three years of eligibility remaining at SU.

"Hannah will fit well with our culture," said Coach Geoff Hirai. "She will be a great asset for the next three years."

Sasaki, an Irvine, Calif., native, appeared in 24 games with the Illini in 2019. She scored eight runs in her pinch-running role. Prior to that, she was a three-time All-Pacific Coast League honoree at Woodbridge High. She helped OC Batbusters win the 2016 USSSA World Series on the club circuit.

Seattle U had its best season in program history in 2019, winning its first-ever WAC regular-season and tournament titles. The Redhawks then beat Fordham to claim its first NCAA Division I Tournament victory and notch its school-record 40th win of the season.
