NORMAN, Okla. – Greg Gionfriddo and Zack Overstreet of Seattle University men’s golf have been named 2018-19 Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-America Scholars. The pair were two of just 266 Division I student-athletes to earn the honor this academic year.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically. In addition, they participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Gionfriddo, a Memphis, Tenn., native, completed his junior year with a scoring average of 74.24 in 11 tournament appearances this past year.

Overstreet graduated from Seattle U in three years. The native of Issaquah, Wash., averaged a 75.7 in 11 tournaments this season.

Joe Harvie, a 2018 SU graduate, was named GCAA All-America Scholar in 2017 and 2018.

Last week, SU claimed President’s Special Recognition from the GCAA. As a team, the Redhawks compiled a 3.59 GPA in the 2018-19 year.
