SEATTLE – Commitment to athletic and academic success was paramount once again for Seattle University student-athletes, who collectively closed out the 2019 spring quarter with a 3.365 grade point average. That mark followed a 3.288 fall quarter GPA and winter quarter GPA, bringing the 2018-19 average to 3.30.

Seventeen of 18 programs (combining indoor and outdoor track into one) Redhawk teams accumulated above a 3.0 GPA for the 2018-19 academic year. Seven (up from five in 2018) of the 18 teams earned a 3.50 or above for the 2019 spring quarter including women's golf (3.768), men's golf (3.713), women's softball (3.689), women's swimming (3.673), women's cross country (3.569), men's tennis (3.555) and women's rowing (3.546).

All told, 43 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 during the final quarter of the 2018-19 academic year. Fifty-four student-athlete earned a 3.9 or above and 143 total Redhawks achieved a 3.5 or above.

The Redhawks placed a combined 60 student-athletes on the fall and winter Western Athletic Conference All-Academic Teams, and have an anticipated 86 more to add for the spring and freshman/transfers teams.
