PORTLAND, ORE. - In his last time wearing a Redhawk uniform, Seattle U track and field star Jacques Hebert competed in the Portland Track Festival on June 8-9 and finished his collegiate career with a bang, breaking the program record for the outdoor 1500m run with a time of 3:49.49. Hebert also broke the school indoor mile record multiple times this year, with his personal-best mark standing at 4:09.62.
"We always want to give our graduating seniors the opportunity to compete up to the end of the academic year," said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan. "Jacques wants to continue to compete after graduating, and he really took the time to prepare for this race. I'm very happy that he was able to run a faster personal best and gain more experience about what it will be like to run at the next level - the school record was well-deserved.
"We are excited to see what lies ahead for him as he takes this next step."
