SAN FRANCISCO – Seattle U men’s golf finished their fourth tournament of the spring season on Tuesday, finishing 10th as a team in the two-day Olympic Club Intercollegiate. Of the competitors, Nevada boasted both the top team finish (three-under 849) and the top player finish with Sam Meek’s four-under performance at the par-71 Olympic Club in San Francisco.

A familiar name stood atop the Redhawk standings at the end of the tournament, as freshman Jack Rahon posted two solid rounds of 73 and a round of 76 to finish at nine strokes over par. Classmate Nathan Cogswell finished close behind with 72-79-73, while junior Greg Gionfriddo stayed even-keeled at 77-76-75. Junior Zack Overstreet, starting off with a round of 77, upped his game in the second round (74) before shooting a third round of 79. Finally, sophomore Gabe Spach continued to hone his noteworthy comeback ability in an 85-76-72 outing.

Seattle U will take two weeks off for some much-needed rest and practice before traveling to Eugene, Ore., for their next tournament, the Oregon Duck Invitational. Play will begin on March 25 and last through the next day.
