SEATTLE – Seattle U women’s golf has built upon their already strong young core with the signing of Azumi Arai. Arai, who hails from Woodbridge High School in Irvine, Calif., will join the team in the fall of 2019.

Her high school career includes All-Pacific Coast League First Team honors in 2017 and 2018, as well as the captaincy of her school’s team in 2018. In the 2018 Toyota Tour Cup Series at Ojai Valley Inn, Arai shot rounds of 73 and 75 to tie for 10th place in the tournament.

“We are so excited to add Azumi to our roster,” said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. “She is an excellent student with a very athletic golf swing who has shown some great promise in competition. We believe that she fits our culture perfectly and can potentially contribute right away.”

The current women’s golf team begins their spring season on Feb. 23-24 at the Grand Canyon University Invitational.
