KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sergio Rivas and Nathan Aune of Seattle University men’s soccer have been named 2018 United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region, the organization announced Wednesday. Rivas was a first team choice, while Aune was picked for the second team.

Rivas, a senior from Albuquerque, New Mexico, put together a terrific season in 2018. He recorded four goals and a team-high 11 assists in 20 matches. Rivas finished his career with 27 assists, second-most in WAC history. The co-captain earned All-WAC First Team recognition for his efforts.

Aune capped a fantastic collegiate career this fall. The native of Arlington, Wash., played in 17 games at center back. The co-captain scored a pair of goals and was vital in SU allowing just 24 goals in 20 outings this year. Aune was an All-WAC First Team selection.

In 2017, Aune was all-region first team and Rivas was picked for the second team.

SU won 13 games this season, including the 300th win of Coach Pete Fewing’s career. They won at least 11 games for the sixth straight season, becoming one of four Division I programs to achieve the feat.
