SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – Seattle U cross country takes on several of the top teams in the country on Friday, Nov. 9 at the NCAA Division I West Region Cross Country Championships. Both the women's 6k race and the men's 10k race will be held at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, Calif., and will start at 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM, respectively.

NCAA-ranked competitors for the Regional women's race include Oregon (2), Boise State (3), Stanford (6), Washington (17), Portland (19), UCLA (31) and Oregon State (35). The men's race also boasts a number of ranked teams: Portland (4), Stanford (5), Washington (7), Boise State (9), Oregon (11), Washington State (22), UCLA (24) and Gonzaga (28).

The Redhawks enter the competition two weeks after posting some fantastic performances at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Oct. 27. Seniors Eli Boudouris and Ben Monk placed seventh and eighth in the 8k race to lead the Seattle U men and receive All-WAC First- and Second-Team honors, respectively, while sophomore Megan Delorey was the Redhawks' top finisher in the women's 6k. All three are entering the Regional Championships on Friday.

“Both the women's and men's teams are looking forward to the regional meet this weekend,” said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan. “I'm extremely proud of how all of our runners have stayed focused throughout the season, from day one to this meet. Over the past two weeks, everyone has done a great job of staying on task, and I'm excited to see how they compete in one of the biggest and most talented regional fields in the nation.”
