DENVER – Declan McGlynn and Josh Adachi of Seattle University men’s soccer have been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for the period ending on Sept. 23. The pair was instrumental in SU’s wins at San Diego and No. 16 Washington.

McGlynn, a freshman, recorded two goals and two assists in a pair of starts. The native of Kirkland, Wash., notched a goal and two assists in the Redhawks’ 4-0 win at San Diego on Sept. 19. He followed with a clinching score late in SU’s 2-0 win at UW on Sept. 23.

Adachi posted two shutouts on the week. The senior made four saves to blank the Huskies on Sunday, earning his third shutout of the season. The Pearl City, Hawai’i, native also secured a shutout at USD earlier in the week.

Seattle U (6-3-0, 0-1-0 WAC) resumes WAC play this weekend, as it travels to Kansas City and Houston Baptist.
