BROOKINGS, S.D. – Seattle University volleyball closed out a busy week of action with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-22 sweep of Weber State Saturday morning at the Comfort Suites University Jackrabbit Invitational.

The Redhawks move to an even 3-3 on the season after going 2-1, with two straight-set sweeps, at the tournament hosted by South Dakota State. Weber State drops to 3-3 overall.

Sofia Sanchez led the way with 10 kills while Eve Kerschenbaum added nine. Maja Stojanovic and Rachel Stark chipped in eight apiece as Seattle U hit a season-high .315 for the match.

Stark and Tijana Milojevic collected 11 digs apiece while Shae Harris Dished 34 assists to go along with seven digs.

Andrea Hale led the Wildcats with 10 kills.

"We played really well as a team today and I was proud of how engaged everyone was," said Head Coach James Finley. "Maja and Shae were phenomenal and the whole team played amazing defense. This was a nice way to finish the week."

Seattle U scored the first four points of the opening set and was never challenged in the 25-14 win. The Redhawks would pull away down the stretch in the second set for a 25-15 win, then battle through eight tie scores and five lead changes in the third to earn the sweep.

The Redhawks conclude a nine-match road swing next week when they head to California to take part in the Sacramento State Invitational. Play begins Friday, Sept. 7 versus UC Riverside.
