BROOKINGS, S.D. – Seattle University volleyball dropped a straight-sets decision to Green Bay on day two of play at the Comfort Suites University Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State.
The Redhawks fell to 2-3 on the season while Green Bay improves to 2-4.
The Phoenix hit .295 in the first set on their way to a 25-23 win. Seattle U was unable to recover, dropping the ensuing two sets 25-19 and 25-16.
"Our youth got to us today," said Head Coach James Finley. "We got rattled after dropping the first set and struggled to make adjustments. We did have some bright spots, however, as Shae (Harris) set a nice scheme and Julia (Queiroz) played really well."
Rachel Stark paced the Redhawks with 11 kills and nine digs. Julia Queiroz added 10 kills on 14 swings and just one error for a .643 hitting percentage.
Seattle U wraps up tournament play on Saturday, facing Weber State at 8 a.m. PT.
