SEATTLE – (August 1) Seattle University women’s soccer began fall practice on Wednesday morning, as the Redhawks worked out at SU Park to open camp.

Coach Julie Woodward, entering her 22nd season, will look to guide Seattle U to its fifth WAC regular-season title in the last six years. The Redhawks set a conference record with a fifth consecutive appearance in the WAC Championship game in 2017.

All-WAC Second Team performers Jessie Ray and Hannah Carrothers return to lead SU in 2018. Ray led the team with seven goals last year, while Carrothers put up five assists while helping the defense claim a 569-minute scoreless streak late in the season.

Seattle U will train in advance of its first exhibition contest on Thursday, Aug. 9, as Highline Community College visits Championship Field. SU begins the regular season on Friday, Aug. 17 at Washington State.
