DENVER – (Mar. 6) Aaron Menzies, Matej Kavas and Jordan Hill were honored by the Western Athletic Conference as the 2017-18 Men's Basketball All-WAC Teams, as voted on by the league's eight head coaches, were released by the league office Tuesday.

Menzies and Kavas each earned Second Team All-WAC Honors, Menzies was also named to the All-Defensive Team and Hill earned All-Newcomer Team selection.

The trio were instrumental in Seattle U's regular-season fourth-place WAC finish with a record eight wins in league play. The Redhawks have also set a modern day Division I program record with 19 overall wins.

Menzies averaged a double-double of 10.6 points and 10.6 rebounds during the 14-game WAC slate. The 7-3 center shot 55.6 percent from the field and 66.1 percent from the charity stripe, leading the Redhawks in made free throws during league action. His rebound average ranked second among all WAC players and his field goal percentage was fifth. His 34 blocks (2.4 per game) ranked first in the WAC, as did his 3.7 offensive boards per game.

Kavas, the 2016-17 WAC Freshman of the Year, averaged 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game during WAC play. He had three or more threes six times during the 14-game slate, finishing with 26 while shooting 39.4 percent from the field.

Hill led the Redhawks in scoring during WAC play, averaging 13.1 points per game, which ranked sixth in the league. He also added 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, while his 27 three pointers during league play ranked fifth. Hill added a team-best 13 steals during the stretch.

The Redhawks open WAC Tournament play on Thursday, Mar. 8 as the fourth seed and will face fifth seed UTRGV in the first round of play. Tip off from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Pacific. The game will stream live on ESPN3 and can be heard live on KTTH 770 AM.
