OREM, Utah – (Mar. 3) The Redhawks could not get going offensively Saturday night and Utah Valley overcame 18 turnovers while staying hot from the field on senior night to send Seattle U men's basketball to a 73-47 defeat in both teams Western Athletic Conference regular-season finale.

Seattle U drops to 19-12 overall and 9-6 in WAC play while the Wolverines finish the regular-season at 21-9 overall and 10-4 in the WAC.

"It was a tough night," said Head Coach Jim Hayford. "I can't fault the effort we showed, but with that, we could have rebounded better, we could have defended better. We need to regroup and be ready to go against a very strong UTRGV team on Thursday."

Aaron Menzies was the lone Redhawk in double figures, finishing with 10 points to go along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Jordan Hill had nine points and Richaud Gittens chipped in eight. Morgan Means finished with a game-high seven assists.

UVU's Connor Toolson led all players with 17 points, including four triples, while Kenneth Ogbe added 13 points.

Gittens hit a three for the game's first bucket, but the Wolverines responded with an 8-0 run to take an 8-3 lead eight minutes in. Points were hard to come by for both sides as the teams combined for 23 first-half turnovers.

As Seattle U went 3-of-14 from deep in the frame, UVU hit 5-of-8 from three and shot 50 percent from the field to take a 31-20 lead into the break.

The Wolverine lead would balloon to 17, 39-22, with an 8-2 run to start the second half. Seattle U was able to trim the spread down to 13 twice, but UVU pulled away down the stretch and both teams emptied their benches late.

The Redhawks open WAC Tournament play on Thursday, Mar. 8 as the fourth seed and will ace fifth seed UTRGV in the first round of play. Tip off from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Pacific. The game will stream live on ESPN3 and can be heard live on KTTH 770 AM.
