SEATTLE – (Jan. 11) Tarik Skubal has been named the 44th top prospect on D1Baseball's recently released preseason Top 100 College Prospects list for the 2018 draft.

Skubal, a 6-3, 224-pound southpaw enters his redshirt-junior season for Seattle University baseball this spring. He was a force to reckon with during his freshman and sophomore seasons as a Redhawk. He capped his rookie season by earning Second Team All-Western Athletic Conference honors, as well as being named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American.

In 2016 as a sophomore, he was a one-time WAC PItcher of the Week, one-time Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week and held a 2.11 ERA and 6-1 record in eight total apeparances. An injury would sideline him late in the season, and all of 2017 but he is back to lead the Redhawk rotation in 2018.

The D1Baseball.com list was compiled by prospects coordinator David Seifert (a former area scout an crosschecker for the Philadelphia Phillies) along with editors Aaron Fitt and Kendall Rogers, in consultation with numerous scouting heavyweights across the industry.
