SEATTLE – (Nov. 21) Seattle U men’s tennis freshman Colton Weeldreyer competed for a cause on Saturday. Weeldreyer competed in the doubles event with former student-athlete Barbara Carey in Hits for Health which raised over $23,000 for research on common cancers in both men and women.

““Participating in the fundraiser this past weekend was such an honor,” Weeldreyer said. “I’m very glad I could be a part of such a great event for an amazing cause. It was great getting on the court with Barbara Ann and the other teams playing some tennis and raising money and awareness for the foundations. I had so much fun participating and I hope to be able to be a part of more events like this in the future.”

The Weeldreyer team raised $1,015 for the event which was among the highest for an individual team at the event. Seattle U prides itself on giving back to the community and Weeldreyer’s efforts embody the spirit of the student-athlete experience at Seattle U.
