KANSAS CITY, Mo. – (Oct. 12) Seattle University volleyball dropped a straight-sets decision, 25-18, 25-19, 25-15, to Kansas City Thursday night at the Swinney Recreation Center.

The Western Athletic Conference setback dropped the Redhawks to 6-13 overall and 2-4 in league play. UMKC moved to 7-12 overall and an even 3-3 in the WAC.

The Redhawks were unable to get much going all night, hitting just .131 for the match, had just two team blocks, three service aces and committed 12 service errors.

Katarina Marinkovic led SU with nine kills on a .238 hitting percentage. Freshman Mahra McLeod collected five kills on 15 attempts and just one error.

The ‘Roos were led by Alex Ratzlaff’s 13 kills while Alicia Harrington added 10 kills and 10 digs. UMKC hit .325 for the match.

Seattle U’s WAC road swing continues Saturday at Chicago State. First serve is set for 12 p.m. Central Time, 10 a.m. Pacific.
