Chris Borden, former Penn State Women's Tennis Volunteer Assistant Coach, has been hired as the new Seattle University men's tennis assistant.

"I'm pleased to announce the addition of Chris Borden as our new men's assistant tennis coach," Reeb said. "Coach Borden brings a high level of experience to Seattle U. He was a solid DI student-athlete at George Mason, has experience as a Director of Junior Tennis out in California, and most recently worked as a volunteer assistant with Penn State in the Big Ten. Coach Borden will be an invaluable addition as we continue to work towards capturing our first WAC Championship."

Borden has worked as a tennis coach or instructor for eight years.

"I am excited to be a part of the Seattle University tennis program," Borden said. "This is a unique opportunity to join a program that has been steadily improving over the past few years and I look forward to adding to the continued success."

Borden was a decorated student while at George Mason. He earned the Provost Achievement Award and Athletics Provost Achievement Award in 2011, 2012 and 2013, the GMU Achievement Award in 2012 and 2013 as well as Dean's List Honors in six semesters. Borden graduated from George Mason University in 2014 with a bachelor of science in accounting.
