DENVER – (Sept. 4) Jessie Ray of Seattle University women’s soccer was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 3. The sophomore was named Outrigger Classic MVP in Hawaii last weekend.

Ray, a native of Portland, Oregon, scored a goal in SU’s 2-0 win at Hawaii on Aug. 28. She tried five shots, with a pair going on net. It marked the third straight game with a goal for the sophomore.

The honor is Ray’s first weekly conference award. She scored the game-winning goal in the WAC Championship at UMKC last season.

The Redhawks play at Idaho on Monday afternoon.
