SEATTLE (August 2) – Seattle University women’s soccer has added a pair of newcomers for the upcoming season. Holly Rothering and Emily Bringgold will join the Redhawks, completing Coach Julie Woodward’s new class.

"Holly and Emily are two great additions to our Redhawk family," said Woodward. "They both exemplify our values of character, commitment, and consistency. We are excited to see them on Championship Field wearing the red and white."

Rothering spent last year at Washington State, appearing in four games. The native of Mill Creek, Washington, played at Snohomish High, earning All-WESCO First Team recognition as a junior. As a member of the Crossfire Premier club, Rothering helped her U-17 team finish second in the nation in 2015 after advancing to the ECNL Finals.

Bringgold played at Eastern Washington in 2015 and 2016. She played in 21 games, making 19 starts. The Folsom, California, native played for Vista Del Lago High and for Sereno SC ECNL in club competition. Bringgold was a member of the 150 Girls IMG Academy in 2015 and claimed CA North ODP Team honors four times.

Seattle U opens with an exhibition contest against British Columbia on Friday, Aug. 11, at Championship Field.
