SEATTLE – (June 12) Seattle University Athletics has made a change in leadership of the cross country and track and field programs as Head Coach Trisha Steidl will not return in 2017-18, Director of Athletics Shaney Fink announced Monday.

“I am grateful to Coach Steidl for her 11 years of service to the university and wish her well in the future,” said Fink.

Steidl completed 11 years at Seattle U this past spring as the men's and women's track and field teams placed sixth and fifth, respectively, at the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. She led the programs through the transition from NCAA Division II to Division I, earned one WAC team title in women's cross country, had numerous individual medalists in indoor and outdoor track and field, and produced three NCAA DI postseason individual qualifiers in outdoor track.

A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
