EUGENE, Ore. – (Apr. 16) Seattle University women's rowing had a strong showing on Saturday at the Covered Bridge Regatta on Dexker Lake in Eugene, Ore., winning the grand finals of both the novice 8+ and varsity 4+.

The Redhawks' varisty 8+ placed second in their heat in 7:17.84, which advanced them to grand finals here they placed fifth in 7:55.23.

The novice 8+ won their heat in 7:55.72, also advanced to the grand finals, which they won in 7:49.74.

Seattle U's varsity 4+ took fourth in thei preliminary heat in 8:21.08 and advanced to the petite final, which they won in 9:22.11.

"We are celebrating the novice's success today, but we also recognize that we have two weeks before our championship race and have some work to do," said Head Coach Jenny Park. "We are looking forward tocontinue to train hard next week."

The Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships is next on the Redhawks' slate, scheduled for April 29-30 on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.
