KANSAS CITY, Mo. – (April 1) The Seattle U women’s tennis team dropped its fourth conference game Saturday afternoon to UMKC by a score of 7-0.

Michelle Lui and Madison Maloney were able to capture a doubles win over the Roos 7-5 but the Redhawks dropped the next two doubles matches 6-4, 6-0, respectively.

In singles play, SU didn’t find any success as they dropped all six games. For the season, Seattle U dropped to 8-12 overall (0-4 in WAC) while UMKC improved to 9-7 (4-0 in WAC).

Head coach Adam Reeb shared his thoughts on the match.

"UMKC played very well today in tough conditions and deserved the win,” said Reeb.

“We again had a close doubles point that came down to the wire. We were so close on a lot of courts in singles, we just couldn't break through unfortunately.

We have a great group of young women here, and we're just going to stay persistent and enthusiastic and keep at it. Our goal tomorrow is just to play with the most passion and joy and enjoy the opportunity to compete."

The Redhawks take on Chicago State tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. in Kansas City as they look to secure their first conference win on the season.
