LEWISTON, Idaho - (Mar. 25) One day removed from a victory over Lewis-Clark State College, the Redhawks took a step up in competition Saturday afternoon as they matched up with the Vandals of Idaho.

The result was a 7-0 loss despite a strong team effort, according to assistant coach Matt Look.

"This was a tough match on the scoreboard, but I'm proud of the strong effort put out today," said Look.

"It was quality tennis all around, and all credit to Idaho as we came up a bit short. If we can maintain that effort and focus through the rest of the year, I have no doubt we'll be rewarded at the end."

In singles no. 1, Michelle Lui fell to Marianna Petrei 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Barbara Carey fell to Lucia Badillos 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in singles no. 3.

SU was unable to earn the doubles point as they fell in all three games. The women return to the courts next Saturday, April 1, as they take on UMKC in Kansas City with a 1:00 p.m. start time. They will be looking for their first conference win on the season.
