LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - (Mar. 18) For the second straight day, the Seattle U women's tennis team was unable to overcome a tough conference opponent as they fell to UTRGV 5-2.

Now two matches into WAC play, junior Audrey Scott has proven to be a bright spot for the Redhawks. She collected her second consecutive singles victory on Saturday by defeating UTRGV's Amanda Guardia 6-0, 6-1.

Michelle Lui joined Scott in the win column as she beat the Vaquero's Dominique Esparza 6-3, 6-2 in the singles no. 1 position. However, Seattle U was once again unable to clinch the doubles point as they dropped two out of three games.

Head coach Adam Reeb shared his thoughts on the match.

"We battled the defending WAC champions all the way down to the wire today", said Reeb. "We are right there with the top teams in our conference, we've just got to execute a little better in the bigger moments.

We've also lost close doubles points the last two days which is something we need to get better at as well. I'm confident we will though.

This is a group of fighters who never gives up, so we'll just keep working on getting a little better each day as we hope to peak at the conference tournament next month.

We've got one more opportunity to compete against a strong Grand Canyon squad tomorrow morning which we're looking forward to."

SU faces Grand Canyon tomorrow morning in Las Cruces at 8 a.m.
