DENVER (March 13) – Alyssa Reuble of the Seattle University softball team has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Pitcher of the Week, for the period ending March 12. Reuble threw a perfect game against South Dakota on March 11.

The senior went to the circle on a gloomy Friday morning at the Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Washington. She ended the game having thrown the third perfect game in program history. The outing marked the first perfect game thrown in Division I this season and the first by a WAC pitcher since 2010.

Reuble went five innings, facing the minimum 15 batters, on her way to perfection. She struck out one and tallied eight groundball outs. She needed just 41 pitches to accomplish the feat.

Erin Martin threw the first two perfect games in SU history, one in 2006 and the other in 2008.

The WAC honor is the second for Reuble. She also won the award last March.

Seattle U will head to Montana for five games at the Griz Classic this weekend.
