SEATTLE - (Mar. 11) Seattle U proved too much too handle for the Bruins of George Fox as the Redhawks cruised to a 7-0 home victoy Saturday night at Sand Point.
The win not only marked a positive end to non-conference play, but put SU back at the .500 mark with an overall record of 7-7.
After a tough and lengthy non-conference schedule, it was exactly the workman-like performance head coach Adam Reeb was hoping for as the women get ready to open WAC play against New Mexico State next weekend.
"Great effort by the girls tonight," said Reeb. "We stayed focused and had a complete effort by everyone. We've been putting in the work and are now excited to start WAC play next weekend in New Mexico."
All six singles games ended in two-set victories for the Redhawks after dominating doubles play as well.
SU travels to Las Cruces, New Mexico, next weekend to play three conference matches.
They open Friday at 1:00 p.m. with New Mexico State, followed by a 1:00 p.m. Saturday match with UTRGV, before closing the weekend out on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. against Grand Canyon.
