PORTLAND, Ore. - (Feb. 18) Behind a complete team performance Saturday morning against UC Irvine, the Seattle U women's tennis team earned its fourth victory of the season.

Michelle Lui and Madison Maloney got the team off to a fast start in doubles play as they defeated Constance Branstine and Stephanie Ngyuen 6-3.

After Barbara Carey and Kali McCollister dropped their doubles match, Caroline Maltby and Kailyn Skjonsby secured the doubles point for the Redhawks with a 6-1 victory over Cassidy Branstine and Hali Dickson of the Anteaters.

SU then turned up the intensity as they transitioned to singles play with Lui, Maloney, Carey, and Maltby each winning their games.

Needless to say, head coach Adam Reeb was extremely pleased with the team's performance.

"Just a huge win for our program," said Reeb. "I couldn't be more proud of the girls. Our energy and passion was so good today, and we hung tough and played so well in the biggest moments this morning. We played to win and believed in ourselves and it showed.

We know we can play at this level so we've just got to consistently do it every time now. We're looking forward to playing at home tomorrow against Whitman to compete again and continue to try to get better."

Seattle U returns home as they host Whitman College tomororw at 2:00 p.m. at the Mercer Island Country Club.
