SEATTLE (Dec. 15) - Seattle University women’s basketball travels to Denver on Friday, Dec. 16. The non-conference contest is set for a 7 p.m. (Mountain), 6 p.m. (Pacific) tip-off at the Magness Arena.

The Redhawks (2-9) are coming off a 67-44 defeat at San Diego on Monday night. Alexis Montgomery recorded 13 points and 8 rebounds as SU outboarded USD, 41-35, including a 17-8 advantage on the offensive glass.

Denver (3-8) lost, 65-64 in double overtime, at Idaho State on Saturday. Samantha Romanowski scored 25 points in 48 minutes as ISU hit a game-winning three-pointer with 0.7 seconds left in the second overtime period.

Coach Suzy Barcomb, in her first season at Seattle U, is guiding SU through a grueling six-game road trip. The Redhawks started the stretch at Montana State before heading to Southern California last weekend. They play at Denver and Colorado State this weekend before wrapping up the trip at SMU on Dec. 21.

Kaylee Best leads SU in scoring at 16 points per game. She and Montgomery have formed a solid 1-2 combo this season, as Best leads the WAC in scoring and made threes (31), while Montgomery tops the league in field goal percentage (43.6) and made field goals (61).

The Pioneers won five games last season. They were picked to finish eighth in the Summit League preseason poll. Romanowski and Jacqlyn Poss have combined for 24.7 points per game this season.

Seattle U leads the all-time series, 4-1, including a 59-51 win at the ShoWare Center last season.
