The annual Meet The Redhawks Baseball Dinner, held Friday, Feb. 7, at the Bell Harbor Conference Center on the Seattle waterfront, was a huge fundraising success and set a positive tone for the upcoming baseball season.

The exact number is close to being determined, but based on preliminary calculations, over $70,000 was raised to benefit the baseball program. About half of that total will go towards the completion of the Yunker Family Locker Room, currently under construction in the Connolly Center, which will serve as the home base for the Seattle U baseball players before heading to a game at Bannerwood Park or practice.

Seattle U head coach Donny Harrel introduced his coaching staff and players to the more-than-300 guests in attendance at this year’s event. Many former players from both the first era of Seattle U baseball as well as the current incarnation came to reconnect with old friends, with 2010 graduate Doug Buser, the only senior on the first squad after the reestablishment of the program, serving as master of ceremonies throughout the night.

Season tickets for the 2014 Seattle U baseball season are now available through the Seattle U Athletics Ticket Office. Chairback seating has been added behind home plate, with season tickets for those seats costing $100 apiece. Season tickets for regular bleacher seating cost $50 per person and are good for all 21 regular season home games this season.

For single game tickets, chairback seats for all ages cost $10 each, bleacher seats for adults are $7 apiece, and bleacher seats for youth 17 and under as well as senior citizens 62 and above cost $5 each. For the Washington game on Tuesday, April 8, and the Washington State game Monday, May 19, all tickets will cost $10 each.

Group tickets are available for each home game except the Washington and Washington State game. For groups of 10 or more, tickets are $7 each for chairback seats, $5 each for adults in the bleachers, and $3 each for youth and senior citizens in the bleachers. Group tickets must be purchased in advance by contacting the Seattle U Athletics Ticket Office at (206) 398-GOSU (4678).

This season, weekend passes will be available to four weekend series at Bannerwood Park: Cal Poly (March 7-9), Texas-Pan American (March 28-30), Northern Colorado (April 11-13), and Grand Canyon (May 2-4). These special passes cost $20 each for chairback seats, $15 apiece for adult bleacher seats, and $10 for youth/senior citizen bleacher seats. These special tickets must also be pre-ordered through the Seattle U Athletics Ticket Office.

Seattle U students, faculty, and staff are eligible for two free tickets each to home baseball games at Bannerwood Park with a valid Seattle U ID. These tickets are general admission bleacher seating and are available at the entrance starting 60 minutes before scheduled first pitch.

Finally, the public has a chance to donate Seattle U baseball tickets for young people to attend Redhawk games at Bannerwood Park. For $50, a block of 20 tickets will be donated to a youth organization in Bellevue.

The Seattle University Athletics Ticket Office is open Monday- Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is located at the O'Brien Center for Athletic Administration at 1218 Cherry Street (one block northwest from the Connolly Center). For more information about baseball tickets, contact the ticket office at (206) 398-GOSU (4678).
