Seattle U Athletics to Host Red Tie Celebration May 18

The Seattle University Athletics Department begins a new tradition this year with the Red Tie Celebration, to take place Saturday, May 18, at The Grand Hyatt in downtown Seattle.

With a lively auction, engaging program, enjoyable conversation and fine dining, the Red Tie Celebration will be a fun-filled evening for all. Now that Seattle University is back competing in Division I for the first time since 1980, everyone is welcome to join the Seattle U athletics department and be part of building a new tradition of championship-caliber athletic programs.

This year's event will recognize Jim Whittaker '52 on the 50th anniversary of his accomplishment of being the first American to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. At 7 p.m., dinner will be served, followed by a live program and auction. Tickets cost $150 per person and are now available by clicking here. For sponsorship opportunities and any other questions, call (206) 296-6152 or e-mail
