Seattle University head women's soccer coach Julie Woodward and her staff are offering two summer camps for aspiring soccer players. Both camps will take place at Championship Field on the Seattle U campus in Seattle, Wash.
"We always look forward to our summer residential camps," said Woodward. "There are a number of student-athletes on our current roster who were identified at Seattle U Women's Soccer Camps. It is such a great opportunity for us to work closely with talented players. It's also a great way for aspiring young players to get a taste of what college training sessions are like and what our university is all about. I'm sure we'll find a few more great players this time around. Day camp is always one of the most fun weeks of the summer. We have so many campers that come back year after year, and we always look forward to seeing them again."
On July 9-12, boys and girls ages five to 14 are invited to participate in the Redhawk Soccer Day Camp, which will highlight skill development and athletic movements through fun activities that will allow them to progress as players. Participants can either choose to come for a full day each day (9 am - 3 pm) for $225 total or half day (9 am - 12 pm) for $150 total.
On July 17-20, girls of all experience levels from ages 13-18 will get a more in-depth chance to train with the Redhawks at the Elite Residential Camp. This camp is designed for girls who desire a collegiate soccer career, and each group will be coached by a current college coach and assisted by a current college player. Technical, tactical, and functional training, as well as speed work will be the focus of this camp. Campers can choose between residential, which includes room and board, for $450 total, or commuter, which includes dinner only, for $275.
Woodward, the leader of each camp, is a three-time GNAC Coach of the Year, was named 2004 Far West Regional Coach of the Year, was a two-time All-American in her playing career at Seattle U, and boasts a 206-79-26 career coaching record.
