Student-Athlete Academic Support

The Student-Athlete Academic Support staff members provide Seattle University student-athletes the tools, training and support to excel in the classroom while balancing the demands of being a Division I student-athlete.  Academic Support staff members provide guidance and support to student-athletes from admission through graduation (and beyond!).  All student-athletes participate in orientation sessions with their teams, through the Summer in Seattle program and New Student-Athlete Orientation.  Seattle U Athletics also provides a Study Hall program for student-athletes, which serves to provide additional support in time management, writing, math & foreign language through mentoring and content specialists.

Student-athletes are encouraged to take advantage of the following campus resources:

Learning Assistance Programs
Tutoring Information
Tutor Trac
Writing Center
Math Lab
Disability Services

Academic Advising

Student-athletes’ academic advisors are located within the college/department of their major. The athletics department supplements advising to include coordination of class selection and practice/competition schedule, NCAA academic eligibility, graduation planning and other academic counseling with our student-athletes.

Athletics and Academic Advisors are wonderful resources, but the ultimate responsibility for understanding graduation requirements and NCAA eligibility is with the student.
