SEATTLE - (Mar. 1) Expected inclement weather as the week progresses has altered Seattle U baseball’s scheduled series versus Sacred Heart. The Redhawks (2-5) and Pioneers (3-4) will play a single game Thursday, Mar. 2 at 3 p.m .at Bannerwood Park. The series will continue Friday with a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. The four-game set is scheduled to conclude Saturday at 1 p.m.

REDHAWK REPORT
• The Redhawks won their first two games of the season, but have since dropped five in a row, being swept in three games by Minnesota last weekend.
Aaron Stroosma is leading the Redhawks this season with eight RBIs.
• Jack Reisnger is leading Seattle U this season with a .440 batting average and had his first home run of the season against Minnesota.
• Freshman Austin Lively is second on the team with a .333 batting average.
• The Redhawks are 10-of-11 on stolen bases for the season.
• With 41 walks drawn, the Redhawks rank 40th nationally in total base on balls. Sean Sutton, who had 10 walks through seven games, ranks eighth in the nation.
• Sutton is also one of 26 remaining players who have yet to strike out this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS SACRED HEART
This week’s four-game series between Seattle U and Sacred Heart will be the first meetings between the two programs since the Redhawks resurrecting the program in 2010.

ABOUT THE PIONEERS
• Sacred Heart is 3-4 on the season. The Pioneers opened 2017 with a 10-5 win over FGCU. They would drop the series, 3-1, but have since taken two of three games from NYIT.
• Freshman Elijah Brown has been the Pioneers’ best hitter so far, batting .435 with 10 total hits. The rookie also has eight walks and six runs scored.
• Five total players are battering .300 or better as the team collectively is hitting .275.
• Opponents are batting .226 as the Pioneer pitching staff holds a .3.59 ERA.
• Head Coach Nick Giaquinto is in his 29th season at the helm of the Sacred Heart program. • The Pioneers made their eighth straight Northeast Conference Tournament appearance in 2016.
