The Seattle University women’s golf team posted its second-best single round score of the year with an opening round 303, but the Redhawks struggled in the second round, finishing the day in 13th place after 36 holes of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic Monday at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) was the most consistent Redhawk golfer during the day, shooting rounds of 76 (+4) and 78 (+6) to finish in a tie for 35th place at 154 (+10). Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) shot the team’s best round of the day with an opening-round 74 (+2), but then posted a second-round score of 83 (+11) to end the day at 157 (+13), tied for 55th place.

Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) also finished the day in a tie for 55th place after shooting rounds of 78 (+6) and 79 (+7). Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) shot 79 (+7) and 80 (+8) for a two-round total of 159 (+15), ending up in a tie for 64th place, and Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) followed a first round 75 (+3) with a second round 85 (+13) for a 36-hole total of 160 (+16) to end the day in a tie for 70th place.

As a team, the Redhawks combined for rounds of 303 (+15) and 320 (+32) to currently find themselves in 13th place in the team standings at 623 (+47). Seattle U’s fellow Western Athletic Conference member New Mexico State leads the tournament at 593 (+17) by five strokes over Boise State, with the Aggies’ Camille Orito topping the individual standings by three strokes with a two-round total of 141 (-3).

The third and final round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic will take place Tuesday, April 8, with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. The Seattle U golfers will begin their rounds on holes 12-15.
