“We are excited about our 2013 schedule,” said Woodward. “We start the season playing some very good teams from some extremely tough conferences. Our hopes are that our preseason schedule will help prepare us to be successful in conference play.”
The team will open the season with an exhibition at Cal State Northridge on Aug. 17 before playing three games in the state of Washington to start the regular season and finish out the month.

Seattle U then takes a trip east for the first all-time meetings against Butler (Sept. 6) and Purdue (Sept. 8) before returning to Seattle to take on cross-town rival Washington on Sept. 13 at nearby Husky Soccer Stadium. SU is set to host Cal Poly on Sept. 22 to close out the regular season.
On Sept. 20, the Redhawks will face their first conference opponent of the season, Grand Canyon University, which will also be the first all-time meeting between the two teams as NCAA Division I opponents. GCU is in their first year of DI reclassification and the two teams last faced in Sept. 2007 as Division II foes.
SU will welcome another WAC newcomer to Seattle on Sept. 27, facing University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in their first all-time meeting. The Redhawks will close out their four-game homestand on Sept. 29 vs. New Mexico State.
The Redhawks will hit the road for the first half of October, facing Cal State Bakersfield (CSUB) on Oct. 4, Utah Valley on Oct. 6, and Grand Canyon on Oct. 11 before returning home to host Utah Valley on Oct. 18 and CSUB on Oct. 20.
On Oct. 25, SU will face New Mexico State in Las Cruces before heading to Kansas City to face UMKC on Oct. 27. They will close out the regular season with two straight games vs. Idaho, first at home on Oct. 31, which will also be Senior Day, and then on the road on Nov. 3.
Following the regular season, the Western Athletic Conference tournament will take place on November 8 and 10 in Las Cruces, N.M. with the winner advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
