The Seattle University women’s basketball team is set to be recognized as the Western Athletic Conference regular season champions at the Seattle Storm game on Friday, June 7 at KeyArena. Tipoff is set for 7 pm as the Storm take on the Tulsa Shock.

The Redhawks recorded another historic year in 2012-13, with their second straight 20-win season and their second straight postseason appearance, including their first-ever WNIT berth. On top of winning the WAC regular season title in their first year in the league, Coach Joan Bonvicini was also named WAC Coach of the Year while Kacie Sowell was named WAC Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference. Sylvia Shephard was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year, also named to the All-Defensive Team alongside teammate Daidra Brown.

As the game has also been designated as a “Dads and Daughters” game, several members of the Redhawk squad will attend the game with their fathers. SU men’s basketball coach Cameron Dollar will also be in attendance with his family.
