In celebration of the partnership between Special Olympics Washington and Seattle University, Unified Sports presents the fourth annual Unified Soccer Experience, to take place Sunday, April 21, at Championship Field.

"Our relationship with Special Olympics and Unified Soccer has continued to grow over the past four years," said head coach Julie Woodward. "This has been a tremendously rewarding relationship for our student athletes, staff, and fans.  I’m very excited about the Unity Games on Sunday."

The event will begin at 11 am with a "March to the Match" beginning at the Seattle U Student Center as the Redhawks take on Gonzaga in a spring match. At 1 p.m., the UNITY matches will begin.

UNITY matches bring together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities to train and compete on the same team. Seattle University partnered with Unified Sports in 2011 and 2012, providing professional coaching clinics, athlete and partner clinics, league promotion, and student volunteers.

Admission is free to enter Championship Field and experience this special event.

The Seattle University women's soccer team will begin their 2013 campaign in August, as they look to build upon their first year success in the Western Athletic Conference, making it to the WAC Tournament semifinals in 2012.
