Boise, Idaho -

The Seattle University women's tennis team concluded a three-match trip in Idaho with a 7-0 loss to Boise State Sunday at Appleton Tennis Center in Boise, Idaho.

The Redhawks' best chance for a victory Sunday came in doubles play where two Redhawks duos won four games apiece against their Boise State opponents. At No. 3 singles, Kristen James (Lubbock, Texas) and Corinne Wurden (Poulsbo, Wash.) claimed four games against Boise State's Teal Vosburgh and Bobbi Oshiro, and in the first doubles match, Gabriella Weissmann (Simi Valley, Calif.) and Anna Lambert (Spokane, Wash.) took four games from BSU's team of twins Marlena and Manuela Pietzuch before falling 8-4.

In the second doubles match, Lindsey Newman (Freeland, Wash.) and Sarah Lucas (Las Vegas, Nev.) lost 8-0 to the Broncos' Sandy Vo and Morgan Basil.

The Broncos dominated the singles competitions as no Redhawk won more than three games in solo play. At No. 1 singles, Newman won one game in the first set and two in the second before falling to the 98th-ranked Vo.

Lambert, Weissmann, and Wurden all won one game in each set, losing 6-1, 6-1 to their respective opponents at Nos. 2-4 singles, while Lucas fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.

Rounding out the lineup, Steffanie Mortera (Portland, Ore.) played in just her second match of the last two years and fell 6-0, 6-0 to Megan LaLone in the sixth singles position.

The Redhawks (2-3) next take the court Friday, February 15th with a 1:00 p.m. showdown at Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho.
