Seattle, Wash. -

Lenny Wilkens, a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach, will be the special guest speaker at the first Seattle University Courtside Club Luncheon of the 2012-13 season, to be held Thursday, Nov. 8, at the Sorrento Hotel.

The Courtside Club Luncheon presents an opportunity for supporters and fans of Seattle University men's basketball to interact with head coach Cameron Dollar as well as members of the Seattle U athletics administrative staff. The Nov. 8 luncheon is the first of four luncheons planned on a monthly basis during the upcoming basketball season.

Wilkens was a nine-time NBA All-Star, playing primarily for the St. Louis Hawks and the Seattle Supersonics. He was the head coach for the 1979 NBA champion Supersonics and finished his coaching career with 1,332 victories. He is the founder of the Lenny Wilkens Foundation for Children and has been a color analyst for college basketball games on ROOT SPORTS.

The Sorrento Hotel is located at 900 Madison Street. The cost of the luncheon, which begins at 11:45 a.m., is $25 per person. Registration is available online by going to the Special Events tab on GoSeattleU.com. For more information about the Courtside Club Luncheon, contact Jessica Khoshnood at khoshnoo@seattleu.edu.
