Walla Walla, Wash. -

Seattle University head baseball coach Donny Harrel, along with Bill Hogan, director of athletics, and John Dougherty, athletics development officer, traveled to Walla Walla, Wash., Oct. 4-6 to interact with alumni interested in the Redhawk baseball program.

The activities took place at the Walla Walla Country Club and began with a social Thursday night, Oct. 4. The group of alumni and friends enjoyed a round of golf followed by a banquet Friday, Oct. 5, and the weekend concluded with a wine-tasting tour Saturday, Oct. 6.

Harrel estimates that 40-50 people participated in at least one of the events over the weekend. This trip falls in line with Harrel's belief that it is important to reach out to alumni and other interested parties throughout the state in order to increase support for Seattle U baseball.

The Seattle University baseball team is continuing its fall practices in preparation for the 2013 spring season, the program's first in the Western Athletic Conference.
