The Everett AquaSox, the single-A minor league affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, will host Seattle University Night this Tuesday, July 24, as they host the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes at Everett Memorial Stadium beginning at 7:05 p.m.
This promotion was scheduled as part of a package that also included the collegiate baseball game between Seattle University and Washington State played at Everett Memorial Stadium April 23, a game won by the Cougars, 8-6.
Seattle U head baseball coach Donny Harrel will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the start of the contest. There will also be in-game promotions featuring Seattle University taking place throughout the night.
Tickets are available for $7, $5 off the normal price, by visiting the AquaSox group ticket page at www.aquasox.com/groups and using the password redhawks.
The AquaSox currently feature catcher Mike Zunino, the number three overall pick from the 2012 MLB Draft taken by the Mariners after a stellar career at the University of Florida. The Volcanoes are the single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, are led by former major league manager Tom Trebelhorn, and feature the Giants' first round pick of the 2012 MLB Draft, Chris Stratton from Mississippi State.
The Seattle University baseball team moves into the Western Athletic Conference beginning in the 2013 season. The top eight teams in the league standings will advance to the WAC Tournament at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, May 22-26, 2013.
