KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seattle U volleyball kept pace with Western Athletic Conference co-leader Kansas City, but could not quite get over the hump on the Roos' senior day, falling 25-21, 25-22, 25-22 at Swinney Recreation Center Saturday afternoon.
Rachel Stark paced the Redhawk offense for the second straight match, finishing with nine kills. Sofia Sanchez added eight kills and Julia Queiroz chipped in six. Shae Harris finished with 21 assists and Tijana Milojevic had 19 digs.
Kansas City (29-8, 11-3 WAC) was led by Tyrecia Lukes' 10 kills. The Roos hit .180 for the match while Seattle U (9-18, 2-12 WAC) managed just a .092 attack percentage.
"We struggled on offense, but had a good defensive day," said Head Coach James Finley. "We dug a lot of balls and played hard to the end."
The Redhawks return home to wrap up the regular season next week. The final homestand begins Thursday, Nov. 15 versus Grand Canyon. First serve is set for 6 p.m. from the Redhawk Center.
