SEATTLE – Seattle University volleyball dropped a 25-19, 25-11, 25-16 decision to Western Athletic Conference foe Kansas City Saturday afternoon at the Redhawk Center.

The Redhawks drop to 8-12 overall and 1-6 in WAC play while the Roos improve to 14-8 on the season, 5-3 in the WAC.

Seattle U never got much going offensively as the team hit just .041 for the match. Mahra McLeod was a bright spot with eight kills, hitting at a .263 clip. Julia Queiroz added five kills and four blocks.

The Redhawks could do little to stop Kansas City's Tyrecia Lukes, who finished with 12 kills and 10 blocks. Lukes hit at a .556 clip as the Roos hit .344 as a team. They also finished with a 15.0-5.0 advantage in blocks.

Seattle U begins a three-match road swing next week, starting with a rematch against California Baptist on Oct. 20 in Riverside, Calif.
