CORVALLIS, Ore. – Seattle University volleyball dropped a straight sets decision at Oregon State Tuesday evening to wrap up non-conference action.

The Redhawks move to 7-6 on the season while the Beavers improve to 10-2 headed into Pac=12 play.

Seattle U never got much going offensively as they managed just .057 hitting percentage for the match. The Beaver front line collected 12 blocks to the Redhawks' six.

Freshman Julia Queiroz was a bright spot, finished with a match-high nine kills on 17 swings and just three errors for a .353 hitting percentage. Classmate Sofia Sanchez added eight kills, Shae Harris dished 24 assists and Tijana Milojevic had 13 digs.

"We struggled to generate offense, but I'm really proud of how well we served received and played defense," said Head Coach James Finley. "The team played hard, made a run at the end and it was good to see how they progressed through the match."

Seattle U opens Western Athletic Conference play versus Chicago State on Saturday, Sept. 22. Due to campus Welcome Week activities, the match will be contested at nearby Seattle Academy and will be free of charge to the public.
