BELLEVUE, Wash. – (May 1) Seattle University baseball concluded a 17-game homestand Tuesday afternoon at Bannerwood Park, dropping a 7-2 non-conference decision to Washington.

The Huskies (21-19) scored in four of the first five frames. The Redhawks (29-13) answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth, but neither team would plate another runner after that.

Seattle U starter Jarrod Billig took the loss after surrendering five runs off nine hits. The rookie recorded a pair of strikeouts and did not walk a batter in 3.1 innings. Tyler Yeh gave up a pair of runs, including one earned, on three hits and one walk in 1.2 innings. Jake Prizina, Drake Maningo and Alden Huschle combined for four scoreless frames.

The Redhawks finished with seven hits, one each from seven different batters. Jack Reisinger and Austin Lively each collected RBI-hits in the fifth as part of a three-hit inning.

UW starter Jack DeCooman tossed four scoreless innings while Stevie Emanuels earned the decision in three innings of relief.

Seattle U heads out on the road for the first time in more than a month, returning to Western Athletic Conference play at Sacramento State on Friday, May 4. First pitch in the first of a three-game series is scheduled for 6 p.m.
