BELLEVUE, Wash. – (Apr. 29) Seattle University baseball earned its fourth straight series victory with a 10-4 win against Western Athletic Conference rival CSU Bakersfield Sunday afternoon at Bannerwood Park.

The Redhawks move to 29-12 on the season and 10-5 in WAC play, maintaining a hold on fourth place in the league standings. The Roadrunners drop to 16-26 overall and 6-9 in the WAC.

Thanks to a pair of 11-pitching innings to get things going, Seattle U starter Nick Meservey went four complete innings, his longest appearance of the season. The junior lefty allowed three hits, but did not walk a batter or allow a run before giving way his bullpen in the fifth.

"This was a great series win," said Head Coach Donny Harrel. "We haven't lost on a Friday in a long time. So for the guys to respond both Saturday and today was really big for us to stay in the upper part of the standings. It was another great day for Nick, very efficient. And we're very proud of the back end of the bullpen as well."

Jake Cosgrove had the hot bat for the second straight game to get Seattle U's offense going early once again. The rookie knocked a two-run single up the middle in the bottom of the first, then delivered a three-run homer over the left-field fence in the third to make it 5-0, Redhawks.

Seattle U would finish with 14 hits off of four total 'Runner pitchers. The Redhawks added a solo run in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the seventh.

The 'Runners got on the board in the fifth with three runs off of reliever Dawson Day. They added one more in the sixth, but Nathan Bonck and Drake Maningo combined for 4.1 solid innings of relief to secure the win.

Cosgrove finished 2-for-5 with five RBIs. Curtis Perrin, Dalton Hurd, Jack Reisinger and Cameron Sterne added two hits each.

The Redhawks conclude a 17-game homestand on Tuesday, hosting crosstown rival Washington at 1:30 p.m. at Bannerwood Park.
