COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – (Jan. 13) Seattle University women’s swimming fell to Air Force, 166-61, and Incarnate Word, 159-72, Saturday at Colorado College. Madi Lydig won the 200 backstroke to lead SU at the Schlessman Pool.

"We had some strong stuff today," said Coach Craig Nisgor. "We put together some good races. Madi crushed the field in the 200 backstroke. We swam well, but we have some things to tune up for. We'll keep on evaluating and making sure we're hitting the right things heading into February."

Lydig won the 200 backstroke with a 2:05.24 Saturday. The senior won the race by over three seconds.

Paige Treff claimed silver in the 50 freestyle. The senior recorded a 24.11, just .04 seconds off the lead.

Darian Himes and Margaux Thompson took third and fourth, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke. Himes logged a 2:29.68, while Thompson touched in 2:33.20.

Jayna Van Stone took third in the 200 freestyle with 1:58.49 effort.

The 400 medley relay team placed third. The group of Lydig, Himes, Bryn Lasher, and Treff swam a 14:01.02 Saturday.

Lasher, Maddie Dickman, Van Stone, and Jennifer Wong combined for a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. They posted a time of 3:42.50.

SU wraps up its regular season schedule with a meet at Simon Fraser on Saturday, Jan. 27.
