SEATTLE – (Sept. 2) Seattle University volleyball closed out play in its SU/UW Tournament with a pair of 3-0 setbacks Saturday. Playing No. 8 Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena, the Redhawks (1-5) fell 25-12, 25-16, 25-22. In the nightcap match at the Connolly Complex, the dropped a 25-20, 25-18, 25-17 decision to Santa Clara.

Katarina Glavinic was a bright spot for the Redhawks (1-5) in the evening match, finishing with seven kills on a .250 hitting percentage to go along with four blocks.

Seattle U and the Broncos (3-3) went back and forth through a tight first set that featured 11 tie scores and five lead changes. Knotted at 17-17, Santa Clara pulled ahead by two points and would hold onto the lead for the remainder of the way, claiming the set win on three straight SU errors.

The Redhawks would lead early in the second set, holding a 7-4 advantage on a Glavinic kill. But Santa Clara rolled off four straight points to claim a lead it would never relinquish. The Broncos would go on to claim the straight sets win as SU hit just .023 in the final set.

Tijana Milojevic had a match-high 11 digs while Shae Harris collected 26 assists.

In the early match at Washington, the Huskies got double-digit kills from Kara Bajema (11) and Carly DeHoog (10), on their way to hitting .333 in the straight sets decision. The eighth-ranked Huskies also finished with an 11-3 advantage on blocks.

Katarina Marinkovic led Seattle U with eight kills in the match.

Glavinic was selected to the All-Tournament Team for her play over the three matches. The sophomore middle blocker averaged 1.78 kills per set on a .303 hitting percentage and 0.44 blocks per set.

The Redhawks hit the road for the remainder of their non-conference slate, beginning Sept. 8-9 at the Northern Kentucky Tournament in Highland Heights, Ky., where they will face Northern Kentucky, Bowling Green and Sacramento State.
