The Redhawks sent Jake Prizina (4-2) to the mound for the start. Prizina pitched well, going seven innings, striking out four batters and giving up four runs.
After breezing through the first inning, Prizina ran into some trouble, allowing a string of hits and three runs before the inning was over. He settled down after the second, pitching five scoreless innings, before giving up a run in the eighth and being relieved by Alden Huschle. Prizina has pitched well in his last two starts, but has not received enough run support to come out on top.
Dalton Hurd led off the bottom of the second inning with a home run over the left-field wall to cut the score to 3-1.
Chase Wells started off the bottom of the fourth with a double to center field, and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Dalton Hurd. He would come around to score on a sacrifice fly by Curtis Perrin to bring the score to 3-2.
The Redhawks were able to cut the lead to 4-3 after a passed ball allowed runners to advance, and Austin Lively scored.
Four-year shortstop Griffin Andreychuk collected his 200th career hit for the Redhawks in the fifth inning with his third hit of the night. He finished the game 3-4 at the plate.
The Redhawks are back in action tomorrow evening at Bannerwood Park, with first pitch scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
